Anybody have these in service and care to comment about how much life they've gotten out of these old beasts?
I've only got one, sitting a little under 400k pages and wondering if I should dump the required $$$ to take it out to 600-700k+ pages or give up around 500k and buy something else. I'm looking at a delta of about $500 in maintenance (toner and paper excepted) to keep it to 500k pages, and a similar amount every 120-150k pages past that if I keep up with the maintenance schedule.
I'm also not truly convinced that HP's fuser and transfer kit lifespan is realistic anymore. On the old 4500 series color printers, the interior got a lot more dusty/more toner escaped, so the maintenance was more critical. These guys are not as bad in that regard thankfully.
Thoughts?

The argument here is that I can get Dell 3xxx series color printers under a special pricing deal for around $650-700 a pop vs. the $1000-1200 range normally for that printer. For that price, they're almost disposable. I realize they're a slightly lesser printer when compared to the HP 5550, but I can buy a new one for the cost of every 3 service kits for the HP...
